Dear Year 5 Parents/Carers,

In Year 5, homework will be set on Fridays and the hand-in date is Wednesdays.

ATOM LEARNING

Homework in Year 5 will be set via the online programme ‘Atom Learning’. This is an artificially intelligent platform that provides personalised home learning for your child. Each week, we will set tasks for your child to log-in and complete, which will be directly related to their maths learning in class. Atom Learning provides tutorial videos and questions that are responsive to your child’s needs, e.g. if your child is getting the answers correct, the questions will steadily become more challenging; if your child is struggling, the questions will take a step back to cover basic concepts.

READING

Children are required to gain a minimum of 3 reading records on their Boom Reader accounts per week, to show they have read at home; 10 records of reading at home = 1 merit, so the children are rewarded for reading at home.

In addition, we will continue to reward efforts on Accelerated Reader and Times Table Rock Stars, in class.
