Curriculum Policy

‘Developing Responsible Citizens, Confident Individuals and Independent Learners’

The aim of our Britannia curriculum is to provide outstanding curriculum provision that is exciting and will inspire children to nurture a passion for learning. Equal opportunities are central to our curriculum and are a fundamental right for all children, regardless of gender, race, cultural and social backgrounds, religious beliefs, physical characteristics or educational needs. To reinforce these rights, our curriculum actively promotes the whole school policy for equal opportunities.

At Britannia we follow Talk for Writing and Talk for Reading throughout the school. In EYFS and Key Stage 1, children learn phonics and reading using the Read Write Inc programme of learning. We also follow the maths mastery programme of White Rose Maths. Britannia's science and foundation subject curriculum follows the Britannia Curriculum Concepts; a model of progression for skills and knowledge across the curriculum that has been designed by our team of subject leaders. Further information can be found in our Curriculum Policy and under the curriculum tab.

Additional details about our curriculum at Britannia can be obtained through our school office.
