Behaviour Curriculum

At Britannia, we believe that positive behaviour is the foundation for learning, wellbeing and success beyond school. Our Behaviour Curriculum is designed to explicitly teach the behaviours, routines and social skills that enable children to thrive both academically and personally.

Rooted in our Therapeutic Thinking approach, positive behaviours are not simply expected, but are carefully taught, modelled, practised and reinforced. Through consistent teaching of our Four Rs - being Respectful, Responsible, Resilient and Reflective - pupils learn the habits and values needed to become Responsible Citizens, Confident Individuals and Independent Learners. /visions-and-values

Just as we teach reading, writing and mathematics, we explicitly teach the behaviours that help children succeed in school life. Our Behaviour Curriculum focuses on readiness to learn, showing respect and good manners, following school routines, making safe choices and taking responsibility for ourselves, others and our environment. Throughout the year, staff regularly teach, model and revisit these expectations, giving pupils opportunities to practise and reflect on positive behaviours in different situations. By combining clear expectations, strong relationships and compassionate support, we create a calm, inclusive and nurturing environment where every child feels safe, understood and able to flourish.
